Undergraduate researcher investigates human driving behavior

Phoebe Schrag, a rising senior studying meteorology at North Carolina University is investigating human driving behavior in the Âé¶¹´«Ã½o's Transportation Research and Visualization Laboratory (TRAVL), as part of the National Science Foundation Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program. 

Schrag's research interests include exploring winter weather phenomena like lake effect weather events and it's impact on humans. She is working with Irina Benedyk, assistant professor in the Department of Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering, and Andrew Crooks, professor in the Department of Geography. Schrag will utilize TRAVL to analyze driver's gaze behavior during different driving scenarios, explore driving anxiety and report her findings.
