Lead Stories utilized UB’s Deep Fake-o-Meter, created by Siwei Lyu and his team, to prove that a video claiming to show a drunk Kamala Harris was digitally altered.

The Washington Post quoted Siwei Lyu  in a story about a video clip of a viral attack on Democratic vice-presidential nominee Tim Walz, with Lyu noting he believes that the clip is not a deepfake. 

Reuters quoted Siwei Lyu in an article about a fake image of French President Emmanuel Macron and Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei shaking hands.

The Christian Science Monitor quoted Siwei Lyu in an article about how AI deepfakes are influencing this year’s election. 

The Niagara Gazette featured Siwei Lyu in an article about UB’s DeepFake-o-Meter, developed by Lyu and his team, and how it democratizes deepfake detection. 

PolitiFact quoted Siwei Lyu in a fact-check article that rated a video featuring a voiceover that resembles Vice President Kamala Harris' voice as false.
