About Milind Sohoni and Jennifer Flagg
Milind G. Sohoni is a Full Professor and Chair of the Operations Management and Strategy (OMS) department at the UB School of Management. He received his Ph.D. in Industrial Systems and Operations Research at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA. Before joining UB, he was a full professor at the Indian School of Business (ISB), India. He also served as the Deputy Dean for Faculty and Research and the Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs at ISB. Professor Sohoni’s major research areas include transportation and logistics (aviation, rail, and urban mobility), supply chain analytics, nonprofit operations, and healthcare services analytics/operations. He teaches at the Masters, Ph.D., and Executive levels. He has published in leading journals such as Management Science, Operations Research, M&SOM, Production and Operations Management, and Transportation Science. He is a Senior/Associate Editor at top-tier academic journals such as Operations Research, M&SOM, and POM journals. Among different accomplishments, he has won the Aviation Application’s Best Dissertation Award and an honorable mention for the G. B. Dantzig Best Dissertation Award. His work with Delta Air Lines was a finalist at the Wagner prize competition. Professor Sohoni currently serves as the VP of Research for Production and Operations Management (POM) India Society.
Jennifer L. Flagg, EMBA '12, BS '02, is director of the UB School of Management Center for Supply Chain Analytics. Flagg is a strategic leader in economic development, workforce training, technology transfer and knowledge translation. With a strong background in program development and strategic collaboration, she is committed to bridging industry and education to create lasting economic and social impact. Jennifer brings over two decades of experience leading grant-funded projects, developing public-private partnerships, and advancing technology commercialization. Her work spans sectors including advanced technology, clean energy, environmental conservation, manufacturing, medical devices, and assistive technology, with a focus on translating research into real-world solutions. She is a frequent collaborator with industry, government, and nonprofit organizations, and is recognized for her ability to connect complex systems thinking with practical implementation.
