Seeking students to work on an observational study that helps identify family, environment, and eating behavior factors that may be associated with increased risk for pre-diabetes or insulin resistance among teens.
In this project, we will use a variety of pharmacological and sophisticated molecular techniques, including optogenetics, to determine which brain regions and neurotransmitters are responsible for the motivation to consume alcohol.
Students will participate in a USDA-funded project to identify and characterize gene regulatory sequences throughout the genomes of 50 or more insects of agricultural and biomedical importance.
Students will analyze large datasets from modern magnetic resonance imaging techniques, contributing to sub-projects including data collection and analysis, applying graph theory models, and development of software tools.
