UB’s Startup & Innovation Collaboratory powered by Blackstone LaunchPad announced that it is using $80,000 of existing funds to invest in five new initiatives for students:
- A partnership with Whop University, an online marketplace for entrepreneurs to launch and scale online businesses
- A Collab marketing studio, a hands-on program will allow students who are interested in marketing and prototyping to work with fellow student entrepreneurs
- Propel, a new venture fund, to provide early funding to student businesses who need capital to hit their next milestones
- A guided bus tour showcasing UB’s startup impact, to bridge the ties between students and the university with the region and local entrepreneurial ecosystem
- An entrepreneurship living and learning community that will launch in fall 2026 in partnership with UB’s Campus Living team
The CoLab is a campus-based entrepreneurship and innovation center that empowers students to realize solutions for the global and local challenges of our time, and to introduce entrepreneurship as a viable career path.
