Leadership in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences

A paradigm shift is under way in pharmaceutical sciences, and we are poised to lead the way. With a proud tradition of innovation stretching back 130 years, our robust research enterprise continues, and is just one of many reasons we’re already among the nation’s elite pharmacy schools. Now, by continuing to advance that research, drug discovery and development, and combining our outstanding commitment to clinical practice and patient care, we will lead the field’s next revolution.

Here Is How We Attract and Train the Next Generation of Leaders

Today’s students are tomorrow’s leaders in pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences. We offer a superior, research-informed curriculum that ensures our students are prepared to face the challenges that await them. And yet a pharmacy education—one that is community-minded and driven by values of patient care—is still out of reach for too many students. Private support is the key to recruiting these exceptional and driven individuals, and your generosity helps provide increased student support, expanded dual-degree options and transformative experiences.

Here Is How We Advance Research, Discovery, Thought Leadership—and Improve Lives

Already among America’s most research-intensive pharmacy schools, UB is home to faculty who have unique opportunities to build on our existing strengths in basic, clinical and translational research. With support from philanthropy, we can lead the world and drive future discoveries in three key areas: pharmacometrics, protein therapeutics and pharmacy outcomes. Strategic investments fueled by philanthropy also will enable the recruitment of senior scientists who are thought leaders in pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences.

Here Is How We Improve Health in Our Community and Around the Globe

At UB, our passion for research, education and training comes from within, but it’s directed outward: at making a positive difference, right here in our community and in the wider world. With philanthropic support, five priority initiatives will embody those principles—and make a dramatic difference:

  • Boosting funding for the Center for HOPE (Health Outcomes, Pharmacoinformatics and Epidemiology)
  • Enhancing the Model Pharmacy
  • Transforming health through UB’s Heart of the Community initiative
  • Building an Entrepreneurs’ Fund
  • Expanding our education and advocacy efforts

We are seeking your investment in pioneering pharmacy care.
