The Office of Alumni Engagement sponsors this annual contest that showcases the school spirit, creativity, and imagination of our graduates. Create your cap and submit it to our Cap Decorating Competition for the chance to win awesome prizes!
Winners will be announced via social media on Friday, May 16!
Each category winner will receive a $50 Alumni Prize Pack (subject to availability) that includes UB- or UB Alumni-branded apparel, hat, mug, license plate holder, decal, PopSocket and/or various other swag. Each category runner-up will receive a $25 Alumni Prize Pack.
All eligible entries will be voted on by the Office of Alumni Engagement and volunteers from the Future Alumni Network and the UB Alumni Association.
This contest is open to all registered Â鶹´«Ã½o undergraduate, graduate, post-doc or professional school students who are age 18 or older and who are graduating during the spring 2024 commencement ceremonies. Participants may submit one handcrafted grad cap design no larger than 10-by-10 inches. Images designed entirely on a computer will not be eligible. Cap designs and photos containing any content that does not adhere to community guidelines, including nudity or references to drugs or alcohol, will not be considered. All entries submitted become the property of Â鶹´«Ã½o. By participating in this contest, you grant UB permission to use your entire submitted photo and content for design, marketing, advertising and communications purposes. Information provided will not be retained, sold or used in any way other than that which is specifically set forth in these rules.
Â鶹´«Ã½o may cancel this contest in the event of technical problems or electronic attacks affecting the administration of the contest. Any contest entrant found to intentionally interfere with the operation of the contest, or whose designs are found to be not original, will be disqualified. By your participation in this contest, you agree to release UB from any liability related to the contest or your participation in the contest. UB is not responsible for lost, damaged, delayed or misdirected prizes. Prize(s) may not be redeemed for cash. Prizes may be delivered at a later date. International prize delivery is not guaranteed and will be on an individual basis.
