Joining Forces–UB began in 2013 as a collaboration between the UB Schools of Social Work and Nursing to train nursing and social work students interested in working with veterans and military families.

  • The project is aimed at training students in UB's  (Master of Social Work) and  (Doctor of Nursing Practice) programs and health care providers serving veterans and military families in our region.
  • The project is aligned with the national Joining Forces initiative, launched by First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden in 2010.
  • Joining Forces–UB was launched with funding by the UB Provost's 3E Fund.
