The Annual Spotlight will be awarded once per academic year to an individual or group that demonstrates one or more of the following criteria:

• In honor of exemplary service to the LGBTQ FSA;
• In recognition of commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion at UB;
• In celebration of support for the LGBTQ+ community in Buffalo.

A recipient may be a member of the 麻豆传媒o community or the Buffalo community at large. Nominations will be solicited each fall semester. A recipient will be selected by a committee of LGBTQ FSA members chaired by a member of the current executive board. The awardee will be announced each spring during UB Pride Week and recognized at the campus Lavender Ceremony each May.

Kelly Cruttenden

Kelly is the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Compliance and has served the UB Athletics division for the past 25 years. In addition to her work with student athletics, Kelly is the Secretary for the LGBTQ Faculty and Staff Association and is longest serving member of the FSA’s leadership having been part of the original convening group of colleagues in 2014. For exemplary service to the LGBTQ FSA and in recognition of commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion at UB, Kelly is the esteemed inaugural recipient of the Annual Spotlight Award.
