  • State funding will help UB install thermal energy network

    UB will receive $12 million from New York State’s Environmental Bond Act to support the installation of a thermal energy network, helping to phase out fossil fuel-based systems and enhance campus energy efficiency.   • Air pollution exposure late in pregnancy increases NICU admission risk

    A new UB study found that exposure to higher levels of air pollution in the final month of pregnancy increases the risk of neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) admission. The research highlights the critical impact of air pollution on fetal health and supports efforts to improve air quality to reduce neonatal health risks.

  • Pruning project underway to protect campus trees

    UB is undertaking a large-scale tree pruning project on its North and South campuses to improve tree health, enhance safety, and support long-term sustainability as part of a broader campus forestry plan.

  • BioSCape shows how life on Earth can be measured from space
