UB again hosted the annual Ride for Roswell fundraiser for cancer research last weekend. The two-day event began on Friday with the Celebration of Hope that included the arrival of the Peloton — a police-escorted, 12-mile bicycle procession traveling in a two-by-two formation from Roswell Park to the UB North Campus — as well as the Parade of Teams, the Roswell patient and staff processional, and the lighting of the ceremonial torch. The ride took place on Saturday. Founded in 1996 by Mitch Flynn, Ride for Roswell is the nation’s largest one-day cycling fundraiser. Photos: Nancy J. Parisi

These are our people. These are our bonds. Nick Mendola found pride, purpose and lifelong connections at UB — and he’s eternally grateful.
Identify the location and send an email to ubnow@buffalo.edu. The name of the winner, selected in a random drawing from among the correct entries, will be published on Friday. Photo: Meredith Forrest Kulwicki
